Proposing can be one of the most nerve-racking things a man will have to do in his life. There’s so many different things to get perfect that it can make him feel very under pressure such as; choosing the perfect engagement ring, the perfect setting to propose, the perfect words to say. It’s a lot to think about, so here’s a list of do’s and don’ts for that extra bit of help along the way.
DON’T
Don’t try and re-enact one of her favourite movies where the ring gets put into food, gets found and she’s the happiest girl in the world and can’t wait to marry you. Some might say it’s romantic but what’s romantic about a trip to hospital or a ring covered in red wine jus?
Don’t do it in front of a huge crowd of people that will all stop and listen, just in case she says no. It will be terribly embarrassing and will most probably put you off proposing for life.
Don’t ask to be put on the big screen of a sports game, unless this is what your girlfriend has always dreamed of, there’s nothing less romantic than being surrounded by loud sweaty men and having your engagement publicly aired.
Don’t do it if you’re not 100% sure she’s going to say yes. If you really want this to be perfect then you’ve got to know that she wants to marry you, maybe bring up a conversation on the idea a while before you plan on proposing then you know you’re not wasting your time.
DO
Do it somewhere that means something to both of you, like where you first met or where you shared something special.
Do think through how you’re going to ask the all-important question, you can’t just say “will you marry me?” Build it up letting her know why she’s the one you want to spend the rest of your life with.
Do make it a unique proposal that no one else has done, don’t make it all cliché and predictable. You want to surprise her and make her feel like the luckiest woman in the world. Think back on your whole relationship and choose ideas representing things that you have experienced together and make it special to the two of you.
Last but not least, do make sure you buy the perfect engagement ring. You might already know that she wants to choose her own engagement ring, in that case present her with a special gift knowing that she will get to choose her own ring. If not, ask her mum. Mum’s always know best and will know exactly which engagement ring she would like, this will also take a little weight off of your shoulders knowing that the best and most important part of getting engaged is perfect.

Offbeat: Education VS creativity
As almost everybody knows with the current education system education and creativity can not coexist (with some rare exceptions), nowadays people are not taught to try to amount to something that is really what they want, instead they are driven to the most typical jobs with no regard for the unique set of skills that each one has, so which should you choose?
Well the best would be to be able to choose both but seen that you can't what's best?
If you choose to be creative and dismiss education odds are you will end up working for a minimum salary doing something you like but it's not really at the level that you want and it probably will not pay you enough to do everything you want, but still it's what you want..
If you choose to get an education you will probably end up working for slightly above minimum wage, doing something safe that you never wanted to do, but if you look at it with the student loans you will have to pay the financial stability won't be what you expect...
So you are forced to choose between spending an insane amount of money to get a higher education to do something you don't want to do or you can save that money and just keep your creativity and do something you like. Hard choice right?
There is one exception to that, when you study what you really want to learn, in that situation you have a really bright future ahead, you will have the tools to develop and the passion to stick to the job.

General: Similarities between relationships and business
![]() |
| Relationships and business |
In a company you either have a great start and it rises quite fast or you have a weak start and things progress slowly, also it takes work all the way through, you always have to reinvest in the company for it to be able to be productive, that's the problem in most companies and the reason why they do not grow (as in relationships), it's of major importance that you constantly reinvest, otherwise it's almost impossible to increase your market value and your profits, and you are always risking everything you put in it, so if you are going to invest be sure that it's the best choice
Also you have liabilities, nevertheless you should always have some equity, the more the merrier, in equity we can sum up investment and profits, basically those are your concerns, if both those aspects are solid you have a solid relationship or company, it's a sign that you are doing good.
Most companies also have a timeline, a beginning, a middle and an end, those companies are not well managed, if they were they could live on forever, there is a difference between being rich and being wealthy, a rich person has money, but that money (relationship) will end eventually, a wealthy person has solid income sources (relationships) and those will be able to support him or her for the rest on his or hers life, that is if he knows how to manage them.
Also and most importantly you should always consider the opportunity cost, if you have something better on another place don't waste your time in that company (relationship), it's a bad choice, it might look good at first but you will end up with regret for not following what's best for you and wining about what you could have done, so think well about what you are going to put yourself in.
So, to sum up, relationships and any business venture have a way of starting, slow, or fast, they both have liabilities, you will always have to create opportunities and risk a big failure, they have a timeline and there is always a cost of opportunity, but most importantly they require work, it doesn't mather if it is rock solid or just starting it will always require work but if you play your cards right you will always get something important from it.

Offbeat: Facebook
As promised a follow up article about facebook.
If you want to read the first article about the income of facebook the link is right here.
Well there are many things that people don't know about facebook, some are really clear, facebook is making this generation worse by the moment, some things are not meant to be shared, especially when nobody cares, there are many habits that should not be taken on by anyone that facebook encourages; it makes people addicted to it very fast and not for the best reasons. Also you get a lot more people approaching a dangerous leaves of stupidity, not everyone, but a larger percentage than you expect, but let's get to the point.
Facebook does not delete any of your data, shares, likes or whatever, it's privacy policy is a joke and in practice nonexistent, for many people it's not a problem but for some it's a huge problem, you might think that this does not affect you but just from the top of my head; imagine that you downloaded a movie and share it on facebook, you are exposing yourself to a law suit.
Facebook has been said to sell those personal information, it's not easy to prove but there must be a degree of truth given the number of complaints, it is crucial that everyone realize that for an average user facebook knows more about you than your family and that information is not deletable, personal or shared with boundaries, it's public and will always be.
Of course it has positive effects, it has never been so easy to share ideas as it is today and that is in great part due to facebook, that's positive, it makes ideas spread faster, especially good for good ideas, the problems is that facebook doesn't run on good ideas.
So overall is it good?

Offbeat: The difference between students and prisoners
You would think that a student would be more important to the state than a prisoner, right? I mean prisoners should get the minimum conditions for whatever they did (the minimum human needs of course, let's not be animals) and the student would have a lot of attention because they are the future and can't provide for themselves and having in mind that the average cost of rising a kid can rise up to 200.000$ (depending on your country it can be even higher) you would think that the average spending on a student would be higher than the average spending on a prisoner but guess again.
As you can see by the image above, regarding the state of Michigan (but it repeats all over the world, especially Norway) the average spending per prisoner is significantly higher the the average spending per student, but what does this mean?
Well, in a very simple assessment you can realize that for the state it is more important to make sure that the prisoners are comfortable after a murder than to make sure that a kid has a bright future, this is the stone cold truth (I'm sure that most politicians also consider the possibility that they are going to end up in the same situation, so the more they invest in prisons and prisoners the alternative of a bad future is not so bad).
It's almost unbelievable that the education today is so undermined that students get less attention and investment than prisoners, this is the reason why the world is how it is, because our governors, the people that should try to make sure that the entire population lives in the best way possible care more about giving opportunities to people who don't deserve it, for the government it is more important to make sure that who does nothing will get something then to make sure that people who work and do their very best to have something more. It's the reality that we live in, the people are constantly trapped by money and can do nothing but to live breathe and work and if one of those stops it's over, meanwhile prisoners are having all handed to them in a silver platter.
This raises a question... Who are really the prisoners?

Web income: Facebook
I'm sure that many people have wondered how much does Facebook make, I'm also sure that some have thought of reasonable values but still we should get a pretty close estimate to see how many of you have got close to the number. I'm fairly certain that most people have no idea of the values involved on this.
Facebook gets about 500,000,000 pageviews per day, it's number 2 in the most visited websites, right after google, what most people have to understand is that facebook and google have very different founders, google had everything to work and the money involved is unimaginable, a social network reaching these values is unprecedented and despite everything it is amazing.
These 500,000,000 pageviews per day generate about $1,500,000 per day, one and a half million per day is absolutely amazing, many people can just dream of that income, this enormous income when translated to years is about $547,500,000 per year, with that you can get a lot of fun toys.
This website is now worth $1,095,000,000 and what makes it amazing is how it started, it's just a kid who quit Harvard and made a killing with an idea, not many people have that courage, he wasn't the wealthiest and he made it work and that is amazing.
I'll make an offbeat follow up on facebook in a couple of days just to get some facts straight, but that's for latter, for now if you want to check out some other web incomes feel free to do it, as well as any other topics.

Web income: Tumblr
Tumblr is a social news website, 39 in the Alexa rank, it's a site that basically, like any other social news website it lets you share whatever you want with the rest of the world and your close friends in the most practical way. We are here to look into it and try to discover how much tumblr is worth and how much does it make.
To start-off we take the pageviews, Tumblr has approximately 25,641,026pageviews per day, it's really something but what really mathers is how much income it gets, of coarse the pageviews have a great deal of importance but Tumblr doesn't really use much advertising space, it leave it with about 77,000$ per day, still a dreamy amount for most people, I presume. This would leave us at about 28,000,000$ per year, that is a lot of money.
Like any other extremely trendy website Tumblr is worth a lot, about 56,150,000$ and it has enough income for any person to feel happy, it also has an extremely low bounce rate and most users come back regularly.
It is also one of the few websites that is increasing it's value and is expected to continue to do so, it's an amazing deal.
